Medela SpecialNeeds is a specialized teat designed for babies who cannot generate enough vacuum while sucking – for example with a congenital cleft lip or palate, certain syndromes or neurological disorders. The elongated, slim shape made of soft silicone lets the baby draw milk by compression instead of suction. The one-way valve allows the caregiver to regulate how much milk enters the mouth by squeezing the thicker part of the teat. Marking lines make it easy to position the slit in the baby's mouth and to choose between three flow rates. The valve responds to the slightest sucking effort and closes completely when the baby pauses, while also preventing air from entering. The teat is reusable and easy to clean for daily use.
